RE: QUESTION ABOUT HID KITS
Hi
Got my kit from: http://www.autolamps-online.com/gasdischarge/index.htm Very good service having replaced two Philips ballasts under warranty with not too many awkward questions (In my opinion one failure was due to where I had positioned it in the engine bay but don't tell them that ;-) ). Follow the instructions on the Volvospeed site for installation. http://www.volvospeed.com/Mods/hids.htm Anything more I can help you with ask away. Best answer some of your questions... I think mine was the 8000K version but can't really remember. On start up they are very blue almost purple but once warmed up they are bright white. I've heard the higher the number the less bright they are but mine are bright enough and way better than any after market bulb. The car has now sailed through two MOT's with them fitted so even though they may not be 100% legal your local MOT'er won't fail you for them. |

Off road use only discalimers mean that it is intended for show use only.

RE: QUESTION ABOUT HID KITS
No they just look like halogen bulbs, they give a brighter light than standard halogen bulbs because they are filled with xenon gas instead.
If you want to stay with halogen's but get as close to the look as you can I would go with these http://www.hoen-usa.com/ Hedley |

RE: QUESTION ABOUT HID KITS
thanks as usual to the invaluable advice.
i'm not 100% convinced hids are legal and that they won't blow up at the hint of a bad installation also the after sales support doesn't look to clever either. but the link to the bulbs looks very interesting - there are really only two types i'm looking at but which one would you recommend: 1. xenonmatch titanium 70w 4300k - £26 or 2. xenonmatch plus 80w ????k - £20 it also says something about reflector based or projector based lighting any ideas what the 04 c70 headlights use??? thanks again |

RE: QUESTION ABOUT HID KITS
Hi again,
They are reflector based units. I would go for the titanium version, they will not put as much strain on the wiring and will not be as blinding to the oncoming traffic. The xenonmatch I believe are 55W? but they will not be as bright as plus or titanium. Hedley |
