Default 6 Speed Auto service

Hello all,

I have a 2015 Volvo V60 Cross Country D4 AWD with the 6 speed auto in it. Is there a service schedule for this box? The sealed fir life thing really doesn’t sit right with me.

Cheers

If it's the powershift dual clutch version you have I believe the oil and filter should be changed at 54k

Not sure where you got the sealed for life thing , Volvo have never said that .
The oil should be changed every 36000 miles if the car is used for taxi work , or towing or in other arduous conditions such as a lot of driving in the 40 - 70 region where the gears are forever changing . If it were me I would do it every 54000 miles . Your service advisers job is to explain these options when you book it in .

I plan on keeping my car for a few years so would like to do this.

It's not even been suggested by my dealer and I'm nearly at 60k miles... (with occasional towing)

Anyone know what sort of price we should be paying?

It is not cheap 250+ it is far from just a drain and refill and if there is a software update it would be done on the service free software procedure .

Service advisers need educating more, after all it is a legitimate way of increasing their funds ...

Cheers Clan, I had an 02 S60 Auto and when I enquired about gearbox servicing I was told it’s sealed for life and I hear that phrase regularly on here so I this is why I’m asking the question. Looks like I’ll be having mine done next service in that case, about 70% of its use is around town. I’ll request it at next service which will be about 42k. Thanks for the info, that’s very useful.

It's all hearsay, the story goes around in circles even the service dept hear it and pass it on it seems !
It is coming up for the right time to do it then and you should get any gearbox software update on the volvo service ..
