Default Amazon Gearbox for sale and overdrive change

Have replaced my Amazon gearbox with a gearbox and overdrive from another car. ORIGINAL GEARBOX NOW FOR SALE, perfect working order as the car has only done 48,000 miles. Sensible offers please (not a lot, just want to clear some space). Incidentally, to convert my '67 Estate the propshaft needed shortening by 285mm. Was done by Autoprop near East Grinstead who were very helpful. (£65 including balancing both parts).

"the propshaft needed shortening by 285mm"

Was that with a D or J OD? I think the OD's are slightly different lengths.

Is a D Type overdrive. Gearbox is in excellent condition. Absolutely no problems. Usual wear in top of box so lots of transverse free play in gearlever but I have modified the replacement box quite easily proving that it is a simple mod.

One fix is to fit small steel bushes onto the gear lever "pegs" and machine the 2 slots in the brass/alloy to suit. Brass (bronze?) is cast in.

What about just pressing out the old pin, enlarging hole to suit another slightly larger pin (just under 7mm OD for me), and then carefully filing the slots on the gearbox top to suit the new pin. It has worked perfectly for me.
