Smile 850 rear brakes

hi guys just changed the rear pads on the 850,peice of cake (allways love doing brakes whatever the car/van/bike), i done them because the n/s disc
was looking like metal on metal so started here first, pistons back nice n easy
pads were shot, next o/s pistons nice and easy here as well but pads were
only half way through their life, i can only assume the previouse owner only had the one side changed, why i dont know both calipers look the same age
pins etc all same condition, brake pads the same, ive seen it on old duffers
my dad has had in p/x auctions etc but not on a full service car like mine
strange, ahh well another little job out the way, later dudes, cam.

Interesting Cam, why would the pads on one wheel wear down twice as fast as the pads on the opposite wheel, assuming it doesn't pull to one side under braking? I would think the calipers all operate under equal pressure. Do the pads look the same make?

Matt

hi matt, yes mate pads looked same make same age etc , the only other thing i can think off is the previous owner might have had a sticking rear n/s
caliper for quite a while that he had repaired/unstuck at sometime before i got the car,
brakes have allways been good since i have owned it with no binding problems etc,
its a mystery to me,ah well should be sorted now, thanks for interest
later cam.
