Thanks. I’m just a plodder who is enjoying(most of the time) car bodging. Glad you didn’t buy Edy as I’m really happy to have bought her. I’m looking forward to starting a travel thread for places we go in her, hopefully get a couple of weekend trips in before winter and a few more adventurous trips away next year.

Funny you should say that because had I not been away for a couple of weeks when the old car was advertised, I would most definitely have been bidding....

And this is the spray I used on the back lights, bad light and only one coat, looks better in real life.

Just a thought with reference to the other thread you have going on about your indicators. I presume that the wire on the back of the bulb holder is in good nick? Seeing as you've been fiddling with the rear lights, it's quite likely that a weak and old bulb holder has broken. They're fiddly and I've replaced a completely knackered one with a simple male connector cut to size with a little dremmel and soldered in place. The wires fray and break off the connector extremely easily and it's good practice to strengthen all of them with a good dab of solder

The red arrow in the attached photo, courtesy of our Ron Kwas, illustrates what I'm trying to say

Thanks Adam. I've not seen the back as Nick was playing about so we'll need to have a good look.

Did mine back in 2012 and posted on forum before and after photo but image now gone so include here now.

I had the cable coming away from the back. I used male bullet connectors and splayed the bullet end to make connection with the bulb.

Chrome spray looks good.
The other solution I have seen is to stick pieces of aluminium tape to the reflectors.
