Unhappy MP3 discs

I have tried all methods and quality discs but without success. The discs work perfectly on my house DVD player but keep having the "disc unreadable" message. My car is a C30 reg June 08. The handbook says the CD player is MP3 compatible. Any ideas?

if you have a single CD player i Belive it wont play MP3 discs , you need the factory fitted 6 cd changer to be able to play MP3 cd's and you cant upgrade to a 6CD Changer That was the case about 2 years ago when the AUX socket was first introduced . Your dealer should be able to advise further ...

Smile MP£ discs

I must be lucky then, 'cos my car also has the aux socket for plugging in Ipod.
I'm no expert, but could it be when using Itunes the files are saved to the CD in a format other than .mp3 eg. .wma and that this makes a difference? Either way my basic Volvo stereo is perfectly happy playing them. I even get the track names appear on the display.

I had an 07 C30 with the standard hi-fi and used to create MP3 CD's using I Tunes which worked fine. In fact if you use I Tunes and select the 'CD Text' function when creating the disc it will even display the track names in the display.

Cheers

Just a thought, how are you creating your MP3 disc?

On my 04 V50 if I burn it on a DVD writer it wont play a disc, but if I use a CDR burner all is fine.

Just a thought!

You must have the upgraded stereo then as the standard one definitely is not mp3 compatible (see volvo website)

All my I tunes library is in Mp3 format not the i tunes default easier to manage and use that way
