My keyless entry was becoming gradually less responsive, sometime taking 2-3 goes to get it to work. About a month ago I received a 'key fob battery low' warning on the dashboard when I got in, but never again. Replaced the battery for a new panasonic last weekend and it's all back to normal.
I expected to see the low battery warning every time after that first, was rather surprised when it never appeared again. |

My key battery died with no warning from the car at all. Didn't have a spare battery so I switched to the spare. Despite having been used only a few times that lasted about another two weeks then started becoming unresponsive - again no warning. Changed the batteries and now all fine.

After nearly 3 years of use, my keyless entry started misbehaving...it took 2-3 attempts to open the door. The kick gesture to open the boot stopped working. It also took multiple presses of the unlock button on the fob, to unlock the car.
First I thought there was something wrong with the car, as I never got a 'low battery' warning. Then replaced the battery in the fob with a new Panasonic one and all OK now.

That's interesting, as mine has begun behaving like that. I've ordered some batteries and will replace this week. Not had any warning about low battery level

As the keys never go to sleep, I'd expect the battery to last for a similar amount of time - unless you have a habit of using the buttons on just one remote, in which case it would likely expire sooner. |

I had this on Sunday, parked up at a country park, car locked fine and then one hour later would not open, no dashboard warning.
After I got home I checked the voltage on the Vata batteries that had been fitted by Volvo 3yrs ago. 1 battery - 2.82v 2 battery - 0.00v Fitted 2 Phillips CR2430 fro Euro Car parts and all sorted. What concerns me is that in the past I've had dashboard warning! |

I’ve used the sports key since new and I’ve been getting problems opening the car for the last couple of weeks, this weekend I got the battery low display and have reverted to the larger key, and no problems now. I’m disappointed that it’s only lasted 2 and a half years but I’m not paying £150 plus to renew it.as someone mentioned earlier you can open the car via VOC which unlocks the boot and then you can unlock the doors and then place the key over the icon in the cup holder to start the car, never done it but have unlocked remotely just to try it. Will miss my sports key but there’s no way I ’m paying to replace it
