Default Electric Car Conversion

Hi guys, soon to finish one of my projects and looking to take on another. Contemplating buying a cheap car with a blown engine and converting it to electric.

I have literally no experience and was wondering if anyone else has thought about this or knows anything on it? what to look out for? good places to source for parts etc etc

Default electric motors

The Americans have converted cars using 12v batteries found on the internet.

I'm interested in a an electric motor being developed for each wheel. Likely to be long development. Porche made them in around 1905 but the steering was too heavy.

Check out richrebuilds on YouTube. He does quite a lot and loads of other content with conversions. Some guy converted an A*di A6 Quattro using Tesla drivetrain.
Main thing is the software programming. Scrapped electric cars are still high value because of this. A scrap Tesla will still set you back circa £20k.

Yeh thanks guys, thats what im finding the scrap value are still really high so looking around at individual components and can see the prices arent to bad. But a lot of learning to do to make sure I pick the right motor as well.

Dom, you're obviously a motivated and driven kinda guy but I can think of a few other Hobbies to consider:

Parkour
Bull Running
Base Jumping
Wing-Suiting
Cage Fighting

All of these will cause you far less pain, less stress, and cost less etc.
