Default 960 and 760 Td...

Quick question:

Was the 940 TD the only one with a D24TIC fitted or did the 760 also have that variant later on?

Cheers

Palmer

I'm pretty sure that the last few 760s had the TIC in them, the ones that had the same front end as the early 960. The earlier ones tended to be minus the intercooler. Most parts should be interchangeable - spent a lot of time fiddling with my dads 960 that had a TIC lump put in it - I got quite a few parts from a late 760.

The change in design came with the 1988 model change until 1990 (or possibly 1991).

I personally had a 760 Turbo from 1989 that looked very similar to the 940/960's front end.

Early front end 760's also had the turbo charged and intercooled D24 engine, for a time it was the quickest diesel on the market in its class. They are 122 bhp don't know if the face lift 760 had that as well or maybe more?

1987 model year (available from sept '86) 760's got various revisions including the choice of B230ET (4cyl turbo), the all new B280E (even firing version of the PRV V6) and the new D24Tic. they also got Electronic Climate Control as opposed to the earlier Automatic Climate Control. In 1988 they then got the 960esq facelift with new front end, redesigned dash and IRS on saloons. Thus the intercooled D24 can be found on 760's as early as late 1986 and will have the original front end and interior.
