Default T5 Airbox gasket part number?

Does anybody know the Part number for the "\____/" shaped rubber gasket on the T5 Air filter tray?

Mine seems to be missing and I hate air leaks....

Don't know if this will help?

The prices are silly but if it gets you the part number, all the better.

There isn't a gasket....

I thought the rubber strip around the filter itself was the sealing part of the filter?

Looking at a youtube video it's just a plastic tray, no seals or gaskets built in....

1:25 in....

I'll have to check mine later now

There's definitely a gasket. My old T5 had one and I dropped it into the engine bay and never saw it again.

My new T5 didn't come with one, so I suspect this was also lost during servicing. It sits in this gap in the airbox assembly and the two screws go through the holes in it.

Can't seem to find the part number on any of the sites that have these diagrams!!

Interesting, I'll have a look for you on VIDA when I get home later, if someone doesn't chime in first.

I can see now my previous post probably wasn't a lot of help. However is this a part that is only supplied with the part it sits on? Does it only come attached to part 1 or 7 as a thought, which is why no separate part no. listed anywhere. Might be a job for the breakers. Volvo & Saab breakers in Nottingham have got me out of a fix before.

I know exactly the gasket, I think originally it was lightly glued into place but now mine just flaps about when changing the filter and is a pain to make sure it seats properly.

It could be an idea to use a nice bead of black mastic on one of the faces (let it dry fully first) and then allow that to squish down and act like the gasket?

Got bored trying to locate the real gasket so used an alternative solution:

Cleaned the outer edge of the air filter tray and stuck this foam on. Squishes down nicely... I'm hoping this will stop the rev rising issues. I remember my old S40 T5 had a similar problem when I lost the original gasket. It just never quite ran right without it.

I'm going to consider my issue as resolved...

Symptoms were:

- Revs jumping up slightly after releasing the throttle (even in neutral)
- Revs jumping up slightly between gear changes.

I'm assuming this kind of air leak affects the MAF sensor. I'm hoping my MPG is going to improve slightly as (even for a T5) MPG has been terrible.

Wow, seriously it helped? for some reason I was dubious, plus there is NO info on that gasket in Vida (just looking at it as writing this comment) so I thought its actually not suppose to be there.
Kinda of mythical beast :P
I may do the same just for science, although I dont feel like there is "something missing" in that area of my car, so far...
thanks for info!
