After phoning a volvo dealer,to check the prices
£401 for the back box
£259 for the center/middle box and pipes
£222 for the front silencer

£872 all in inc vat

then telephoning MIJ explaining what im after, With the turned down/hidden behind the bumper tip
MIJ £295 inc for a cat to the back of the car in Stainless, 2hours to make and fit,,

,,,, MIJ will be getting the business, i Do prefer gen volvo parts, and always use them but in this instance, a custom cat back system for Less than just the back box,,,,

Good price, to be fair though the Volvo system is full of wadding to keep the sound level down. I know this because my S60 ejected it’s wadding one day, it looked like someone had stuffed a dirty grey wig up my exhaust pipe. Once I’d pulled out what seemed to be miles of the stuff the exhaust was a little louder but nothing that would raise an eyebrow. MIJ told me two hours but it ended up being 3.5hrs but for what I saved it was worth it.
Anyway, good luck with your new system. While my motor was in on the next ramp was a 850 T5R...

Just contacted MIJ for a quote for a stainless steel cat back system for a 1.8 C30 and they quoted me £395!!!

still bucket loads less than a Gen system, if its anything like the one my 2.4 petrol has

They quoted you £295 inclusive and me £395 for what is essentially the same system...

possibly, if your 1.8 is a petrol 5 pot? was yours fitted or posted ?
either way its still far less than just a back box IF its the exact same system as on mine

The 1.8 is a 4 pot and the price quoted was for fitted

good point mines a hidden single exit system, and stock / standard /nothing fancy sound wise

When they quoted mine it was just for the hidden standard system, it would have cost more if I’d gone for a split dual exit system.,
