Not mad at all
Selling an old beaten up rusty high mileage unreliable Ford Fiesta with an awful colour for a pristine beautiful accident-free low mileage high specced Volvo V50 is an excellent decision.

Thing is the fiesta is not rusty nor failed any mot and under 50000 miles in frozen white the main reason I really want a v50 is it’s bigger boot and want an estate.
But the oh says I’m mad as I have a working car that needs nothing done to it to go to a much older car that may need lots of work done to it! |

I sold my 2006 Jaguar X type last year and replaced it with a 2006 Volvo S40 se with the 2.4 engine and auto box.
Nothing wrong with the the Jag but after 6 years i felt like a change but also had trouble fitting in the garage after a new door was fitted. I have not looked back and love the way the Volvo drives. The only concern i have is that a lot of replacement parts, if i should need them seem to need dealer programming.

a good point about dealer programming/software updating, etc
your fiesta is easier and cheaper to service and maintain by almost anyone with some mechanical knowledge. whereas the Volvo needs dealer servicing to keep it running sweet. something to budget for if you go for the Volvo. Iain

You original post was so lacking in detail that no reply whatsoever would have satisfied you.
Tip: If you want meaningful and relevant responses, then try to provide the full information in your very first post.

You can have a beaten up, high mileage car that is unreliable and only 2 years old. You can also have a gorgeous, spotless and reliable car with low mileage that is 10 years old The two are a world apart i'm not criticising you: I am just saying that what may be obvious to you as the car owner, is absolutely not obvious to some one else who does not know you or your car. So it always helps to paint a full picture. Also: i do not see if this is your first post or not, that is not visible for me. I see you are new, but I do not see your post count.

no not mad at all , the v50 would probably be in the same position as the fiesta regarding current state of ageing . Be prepared to double your fuel bill however , that is the only disadvantage ...
