Interesting browse over the Volvo used site today revealed a vehicle of near identical spec engine and options as mine offered for sale at £3.5k over the price I paid for mine 12 months ago. Nearidentical mileage too @ 10k

Both cars 2019 Inscription pro BW xenium etc. Mine has the tow bar and a few other small extras over the one seen today.

Second hand car prices seem to be higher than 12 months ago, even for the exact same cars despite them being 12 months older. For example, Fords of Winsford have recently increased the prices of a number of their cars (I noticed some Ford Focuses under £10k were increased in stages by £400 or so and a V40 that was £10k has gone up by £300).

I am told there is a shortage of decent second hand cars for sale.

Selling a non Volvo today and using car buying sites the value has gone from £8500 to £9000 to £11000 in two weeks (it is in superb condition and I know when I turn up with it later they'll try and find a mark on it to knock me down...and fail )

Just picked up my Selekt car, dealer told me that they have been told not to order any 360 cameras or Driver Assist packs unless the buyer is happy to wait until potentially Christmas.

They are looking to split out the driver assistance pack so that you can still order ACC, but no BLISS etc. All due to the chip shortage

Yup - I was in this morning discussing my cancelled order and I saw the latest correspondence from Volvo which confirms that the shortage is specifically with 360 and BLIS. They are removing these options from their configurator and had hoped to have normalised supply by August but now are not expecting it this year. Those options on stock and used cars are like gold dust apparently so might be why prices are volatile. Think I’ll hang on to mine for another few months and let this play out!
