Default Volvo 4 years plus service offer

Due the 75k service shortly (non DPF), i recently viewed the local Volvo dealers website - reduced servicing for cars 4 years +.Has anyone been quoted actual rates for servicing and are they value for money?

I've been using the 'essential service' scheme for two years. It's basically a once-over, Oil + Filter and a stamp in the book (albeit with "essential" written over it). I do the filters, plugs and brakes myself or elsewhere to keep the cost down.

It usually costs £150.00 but be careful because they will only include Semi-Synthetic oil (I had to send the car back for it to be drained out again). I ask for an essential service and pay the extra £40.00? to go "Fully Synthetic".

Another thing to watch is that they don't appear to do and software checks/updates despite how it reads on the website. I paid an extra £30.00 to gain the updates last time.
