S40/V50 Now dead?
I popped on to the Volvo UK website to have a look at the V40 for my old man and lo and behold the S40 and V50 are gone! Have we now hit the time where the S40 and V50 have been withdrawn from sale?
If so, I for one am sad to see the back of them.

I'm afraid so. Your choice in the same class is the S60 or V60.
My friend has a V60 and I do like it but it's no V50! http://www.autoblog.com/2011/06/15/v...nued-for-2012/ although that is in the US. More bad news is, the C30 will also be discontinued http://blog.caranddriver.com/volvo-e...plans-unclear/

Yep, i have been offered 20% (without VOC discount) on any new car hahaha...my dealership was swanning them out at 14K for 2.0 Petrol C30 Se Lux.
Cannot say i am not tempted to buy a business edition s60 with a load of discount by the time is done for £13.5K (20.5K full price) |

S40 V50 C30 going going gone......
Replacement is V40 hatchback. Kind of C30 and S40 rolled into one. There is also an XC40 - kind of toughened up (without 4 wheel drive bar the top engine) For those wanting an estate similar in size to V50, then V60 it is now. V40 is quite confusing as V generally means estate and the V40 isnt an estate! Regards |

There isn't the huge discount on the Business Edition models like there was on the ES/R-Design/SE/SE Lux, so your figure of £13.5k may not be accurate. We have much smaller margins on the business editions and no support from Volvo.

Got an overnighter sometime next week potentially lined up (maybe longer father going to see service manager tomorrow get his wheel sorted and on my behalf update him on the 2nd garages (volvo specialist) findings and thoughts "clutch related issues" been offered the 'box off to check' and go from there). Well mine must be desperate! Last edited by Ninja59; Oct 17th, 2012 at 17:38. |

It was however me that was incorrect on this occasion so I will have a word with myself in my own ear..lol..!! You are right though its a V40 Cross Country. That 13.5k if available on S60, you want to go for it. Its a steal. Regards |
