Default Radio Display Always Dark

Hi,

The radio display is always on it's dark/night time setting, even during the day.

I've cleaned the windscreen over the sensor (by the rear view mirror) but no difference.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks

The twilight sensor is integrated into the alarm indicator - that red flashing light at the base of the windscreen. According to a USA parts site, its about $40 so around £30 ish

Are you SURE it's knackered? I've noticed mine has been on the 'dark' mode a fair bit during the daytime recently but when the sun shines, it flips straight back to the 'light' mode. What I'm trying to say is, are you sure it's not just the dull weather?

+1, mine seems to be on the darker setting more lately. Personally I prefer it, shame it can't be switched between the two settings manually.

Give your dashboard a clean you dirty bugger!

No seriously though give the sensor a wipe over to ensure dust/dirt etc.. are all off and see if it makes a difference.

Hi,

Thanks for all the replies.

I am sure(?) that it isn't on and not just overcast days.

I'll try cleaning the windscreen again and see what happens.

Thanks again

Not just the windscreen but the sensot that sits on the dash where it flashes red for the alarm too.
