I switched to Hagerty last year having been with Adrian Flux for yonks, but got fed up with their lengthy phone calls and endless on hold.
With Hagerty I have 1 insurance for each 4 of my classic cars which results in them being under £50 each. Plus they’re proper Classic car enthusiasts and happy to have a chat about classicVolvo of which there are 2 in their office.

After doing the internet comparisons and proving that I could get it cheaper, I called my insurance company and they decided to renew at my existing cost. Why do we always have to play this silly game with insurance companies each year ?
I tried Peter James and they quoted £80 higher ! I might try Hagerty for my renewal on another classic, I like the idea of combining the purchasing power. |

I find it extremely hard to follow even a trivial phone conversation at the best of times, and when it is about something complicated and awkward like car insurance it takes less than two minutes before I don't have a bleeding clue whether I'm coming or going. One of the biggest advantages of the internet is that it has - albeit all too poorly and sparsely - made it possible to do things like this without using the phone; it's still a nightmare, but at least it's a copable-with one. I may have to spend half a day hacking javascript to make the online quote page work at all because it has been written by an idiot, but at least I don't have to use the phone. |
