Default Dull but worthy: T4 great MPG out of necessity

Hi

I had a battery issue when down South with work and once started, the RAC man said don't stop and did I have enough petrol to get home with - 197 miles.

Sure I said.

After bombing down at usual 75MPH the distance to empty tank showed 225 miles so I thought I would do Driving Miss Daisy on the way back, set the speed limiter to 62MPH, pressed the ECO button and away I went home

Not bad for a 2017 V60 T4 petrol automatic

Not one to pop the proverbial bubble but your better doing a full tank to full tank calculation. Sometimes your trip computer can be a little optimistic. I had this with a V50 and that was pulling 62mpg on a run. When I compared mileage against fuel used it equated to 56mpg which is still very good.

There's no way I could do a full tank at 56mph

Not only would I be bored senseless I would end up 800 odd miles away from my house over half a day later
