Who did you use for the chipping and how much did it cost?

Is it reversible or detectable during service?

One other aspect you should be aware of as you move from the Mazda to the Volvo which you will live with just about every day. The turning circle will be much larger which can make car parking manouevres much more of a trial. I have on occasions been forced to effectively do 3 point turns in multi storey car parks to get round tight bends. I recently had to turn out of a car park in the wrong direction simply because owing to the narrowness of the road and the proximity of cars parked too close to the entrance I just couldn't get the vehicle facing in the correct direction. The doors are also pretty thick so you need to leave plenty of space between you and the next car.
Having said that, I love my XC90 - it's the best car I ever owned and well worth the sacrifices but be aware of them before you swap!

On my 3rd XC, no problems at all, even with the first one when they came out (02 52 reg) aprox 25/6 running round, and 33/4 on a quickish long run,

The first 2 had a tuning box fitted, too up the power, the current one , I downloaded the rica sofware, now aprox 204 brake, so MUCH better !!

yes, the sofeware can be be removed, and the org re-installed, and no, not detectable during service,, only on the road test !!
