O ok I saw fk coilovers and thought that might be good as I was replacing the the front struts until I read various threads and videos about them. In my opinion you get what you pay for and I can't see you getting what you need from them just google fk coilovers and read various nightmares. He has a good sales pitch though.
Try a lift kit by getting larger springs and shocks Bigger wheels (although if they are low profile tyres you may loose what you gain) http://auto.howstuffworks.com/under-...ft-vehicle.htm Read more: http://www.city-data.com/forum/autom...#ixzz39vbBf1qG Just some ideas I used to grind my front bumber on the ground sometimes then I took off my very scratched lower front splitter haven't caught the bumper since. |

Had a bit of spare time yesterday and thought I would have a go at changing the rear shocks.
Top nut undone, lower nut off....bolt won't turn! WD40 etc, 17mm ring spanner on, boot against it, zilch! No room for a power bar, only had car up on a small trolley jack. Couldn't find a lump hammer so had to use a sledge hammer on the bolt end where the nut had come from. Several hard bangs and it still didn't move. I rekon the bolt had corroded to the lower bush sleeve inside the shock mount. Put it all back together and have a go later when I can use the 1" windy gun on it. Otherwise it's remove the lower arm complete with shock still on it and attack it in the workshop. Poor design for northern European climate. A U channel which traps mud and cr*p with moisture at the lower shock mount. Destined to seizure!

Seems to be common, I was lucky I think. I have read of people using a C-clamp to force it out.

Unfortunately the embedded pdf's don't work after the forum server was moved recently. Download them from his dropbox link (post 8 in this thread).

Large appreciation from me too - great guide!
Any recommendations for shocks/springs besides from Volvo OEM - but still quality parts? |

I just get mine from my local motor factors, see what they have. Some will even order in specific brands if you pay up front. Think mine where kilen heavy duty and have done over a 100k on the car.
