Power steering hoses
My 2004 V70 D5 has a small leak in one of the power steering hoses.
I can get hold of a used set coming from a 2002 V70 D5 Will this fit my 2004 model?

Would a set of hoses of unknown history that have an extra two years of wear, tear and deterioration of the rubber, perhaps be high-risk approach? I'm all for saving money on parts that can safely be re-used but high pressure hoses is not an area I would consider to be worth while.

I'm watching this with interest as I have a small leak evident that appears to be from the hose connection to the rack. It looks to be an "interesting" replacement exercise due to the limited access to the rack connections.
Looking on VIDA, it appears that the compression fittings are seated with an o-ring (don't know the size or material but suspect NBR will be suitable), so I'm thinking that this may be failing on mine.

I've been using so much second hand material over the last 30 years and almost never had any problems.

You must have or be near a good source of used parts. THAT'S how to do it.

There is a car breaker site about an hours drive from where I live.
I can take the parts off these cars myself so can have a look at the parts before I take them off the car
