Smile Volvo CD unit compatibilty

I have a CR 902 casette player in my '97 V40r, would an SC 805 CD player be a compatible fit? I realise I would lose the cubby beneath. Or will I have to get a multichanger and wire into the tape deck??
Thanks ,
Jo

It should be ok, see no reason why not, you have the double din slot to take an SC-805...best bet may be to ask Volvo though for 100% answer

I went from the single din SC902 (ate tapes and couldn't take a CD changer) to the double din SC801 (i think, can't be doing with going outside now) that I stole from fathers old V70. (which also, incidentally sounds much better) all the connectors were identical. plug and play
Then with a bit of modification to the cubby holder the SC902 was fitted in the V70 ready to be sold.

Now all I need is the changer.
