Default Are these cars best used buy ever?

Hi all just joined after a year of V70 d5 ownership have to say these cars must be one of the best used buys out there bought my 2004 163 facelift model a year ago for very little money , manual ,all the toys leather winter pack ECT full history have to say its a superb mile muncher and amazing economical
Fantastic build quality beating any German car I've owned and has the most comfy seats I've ever sat in ...
Performance belies it's modest output, Swedish horses must be strong little buggers, mid range punch is very impressive ..all in all fantastic cars that clearly a lot of people are just not aware how good they are .

Oh ..and no DPF , so happy days there as well

His cars are probably like slags, no matter how good the ride is, you always get a better thrill by moving onto a new one.

I always keep telling people the 05MY p2's were about the best they ever made

all the niggles on the EU3 engine sorted, the facelift which improved the look and did away with the odd interior niggles inside (eg cover infront of arm rest) b4 they brought out the 06MY and put in the EU4 engine which included DPF and complicated engine bay.

I have 2 S60 05MY's and cannot believe people are sucked into the 185 v 163 power on the 06MY you're not buying 22 extra BHP you're buying worse fuel economy and reliability (IMHO)

I agree they're pretty damn brilliant cars although can't comment on the D5 as I have a T5.

Since the day she was new up until she was 9 years old she cost nothing other than servicing, tyres, one set of discs and pads all round, a battery and a HiD bulb and a few sidelight bulbs (obviously there's depreciation to factor in along with fuel costs but that's the same with any car).

She's now at an age where I've needed to spend money on her I guess. New timing belt and aux belt and tensioners have just been done a few weeks ago.

Last week my coolant level dropped - it turns out the radiator had corroded along the bottom and coolant was leaking out so I've had the radiator replaced.

Will probably get the ATF fluid flushed in the next couple of months and maybe have the power steering fluid changed too. Not sure if it's entirely necessary but new fluid is surely better than old.

She's about as specced up as you can get and I know the history of her so I don't think I'll ever let her go so will probably end up spending a fair bit on her in the next year or two.

Brakes will be due again in the next couple of years and the bodywork is a little tired and neglected so may invest in some dent removal and scratch repairs along with a full refurb of the wheels. Oh, and my fuel flap disappeared some months ago and I've still not got round to sourcing a replacement.

My only real complaint is the turning circle. It's horrific! The Volvo 850 was launched 12 years previous and suffered the exact same disability. You would've thought that Volvo would have worked to improve it with each generation but no, they just passed the awful steering system on down the line.

Overall though, I love my V70 and everyone who gets into her comments on just how comfy she is. You can't beat a Volvo for comfort.
