Correct me if I'm wrong, but it says ""no fault found" . My understanding is there is no fault.

I am with you - but the dashboard error is still present. I asked the dealer if they cleared the code and they confirmed they had and it re-occured. Personally I think they are talking pony.

Have a look on here. There is a thread where people local to you have offered their services of a diagnostic check.Should save you being fobbed off... If indeed you are.

Either a problem with the passenger air bag disable switch/wiring to srs unit or the SRS control unit is faulty . They are sure to have tried clearing it .

Hi Clan

Thanks for your help. I have removed the panel with the manual key swith and all looks well - indeed if I turn it to 'off' the headline info panel shows lights up acknowledging its disabled

I have also removed the headline light panel - all connector look fine and dandy so there is nothing glaring.

Where would the SRS control unit be located ?

The SRS unit is solidly bolted to the floor between the 2 front seats , but i wouldn't touch anything there , consequences could be dire !

Fair point well made!

The bit I cant quite get my head around is that its clearly pinged this fault code in the first column of the abive picture and yet in the 2nd column it says 'no faul found'

Does this mean that its stored a code when it was initally triggered and at the time when the vida was plugged in there was no active fault or quite what ?

yes exactly , it means the fault is intermittent and at the time the code was read it was working properly , in which case it should have erased . So perhaps the SRS IS faulty rather than the cut off switch circuit .
There is lots of other information stored at the time too , like how many time the fault has happened , and how many journeys since the fault last happened etc which should give them some clues . You will have to let the dealer sort this one unfortunately . They will be the ones taking any risks in changing it . So they will thoroughly test everything first .You don't want to change it and find you still have the fault .

Guys at local garage kindly plugged it into their gizmo and managed to clear the code and all seems to be well for now. My sons water bottle was rattling around under the seat the day the light came on so the garage thought that may have contributed to the false msg.

Apart from having yet anither front headlight bulb blow on the way home !

Thanks for all your counsel if it pings the airbag msg again it will go to the main dealer
