Default Smart child sun-shades?

I've got s baby due in the next couple of weeks, and I figured with summer coming up I'd better get some sun-shades fitted to the rear windows. The wife's against me spending much so tinting is out, and I've seen some clever made-to-measure shades to cover all 5 rear windows on ebay for £80ish, but she thinks that's too much.

Other than the ultra-cheap oval panels that stick to the windows with suction cups, or the pathetic little roller-shades that you see everywhere, are there any smarter options for sun-shades that won't look cheap and nasty?

Cheers

I think I only paid £30 for the rear blind and £30 for the two side windows for the genuine Volvo ones.

What do they look like? Do they fill the whole windows neatly? Any pics? Just the two rear doors and the main rear window, or the little rear boot windows too? (Considering I'm in a V50- is yours an s40?)

I have the genuine Volvo ones on our S40 and they are excellent. Will post some pictures when I get home. They cost about £30 for the sides and £30 for the rear window. Rear one is held in place by the existing trim. Side ones have 3 clips that slot in under the rubber window seal that hold the blinds in place. You can still open the rear windows with them in but Volvo recommend 50mph max if you do.

I also have the eBay-esque ones on our Audi A2 (from Vanstyle IIRC). The side window ones were excellent but the rear window one was a terrible fit.

You get what you pay for I suppose.

I only have the side ones in just now but hopefully this will give an idea of what they are like. Work well from the inside and from a distance look like tints from the outside.

Cheers for that.. they look just what I'm after. With the v50 though I'm thinking, particularly with a rear-facing childseat the boot side windows are probably just as important...

Many Thanks for taking the pics, they look just what I'm after

Send an email to Rufe. I just got a price for my V70, £65.88 + £3.99 P+P. Works out a few pounds cheaper.

The V50 rear screen pack has 3 blinds for the three rear windows. Same price as the large one for the S40. They also come with storage bags that they fold down into. Mute point really as once the sprung steel frame has been released, there is no way it will go back into the bag without a hack saw!.

Yes they do if you fold them right. Mine are in and out of my V50 all year and always go back into the original bag with no problems.

You'd recommend them then?
Think I'm going to order some now - so much smarter than cheap ones, and oddly-cheaper than ebay ones that look similar.

FRF Say the normal Volvo price is £31.57 for the set of two for rear doors or the set of three for the rear cargo area (£63.14 total).

Their own price is £28.42, (£56.84 complete set of all 5) so only a little cheaper, then £5.99 for shipping, so only about 30p cheaper!! But, more crucially I won't have to drive all the way into town, no doubt taking me the best part of an hour round-trip
