Default Loss of power.

Hi all

My car (2009 V70 D5 Geartronic) is suffering from a lack of power, here's the story.

On Thursday I was traveling between work sites, as I turned onto the motorway slip road and accelerated the car lurched and then there was hardly any power. I continued my journey but I struggled to get up to speed. Getting to 60mph was a struggle, as was any incline. I suspected I may have ripped or blown off a turbo hose and so when I got to work, I had a feel in the engine bay to see if the hoses on either side of the intercooler were loose, I couldn't feel any movement though. Having a listen around I thought I could hear a hissing coming from the front right of the engine bay so I assumed I has split the hose from the turbo to the intercooler. On the way home, when accelerating I also thought I could hear a noise which would be associated with a turbo leak. I also checked the pressure readings on the intercooler using the Torque Pro app on my phone, I initially thought they were low but having compared them to a C30 D5 and they seemed reasonable.

When I get home in the evening I put the car up on the ramps, removed the turbo to intercooler pipe and it was fine, there were no splits. It did come off easily on the turbo side, which leads me to suspect that it may have come loose. Inspecting elsewhere I could see no other issues. I got my VIDA/DICE out and read the codes and it showed ECM P006900 MAP - BAROMETRIC PRESSURE CORRELATION and ECM P222700 - BAROMETRIC PRESSURE CIRCUIT RANGE/PERFORMANCE.

Today I took it for a drive first thing in the morning and it did seem more powerful than before but it was still under powered. The hissing noise is still there but I think that is the fluid in the top radiator pipe I can hear, the noise on acceleration has disappeared though. The EML had also appeared when it had not shown before. I've stripped of the front bumper and tried doing a smoke test to double check the system for leaks and I saw no smoke coming out, so either there are no leaks or I didn't do the test properly.

I again got my VIDA/DICE out and it showed the following codes again ECM P006900 MAP - BAROMETRIC PRESSURE CORRELATION and ECM P222700 - BAROMETRIC PRESSURE CIRCUIT RANGE/PERFORMANCE.

So, am I correct in assuming that the car is sensing the oxygen/airflow from the MAF, intake sensor and exhaust sensors, noticing that 1 is not agreeing with the others and therefore that sensor is faulty. If I had a boost leak, I would of thought that both the intake sensor and exhaust sensors would have shown low readings and VIDA would have diagnosed a boost leak, instructing me to check the turbo hoses.

Default

Issue was a faulty Intercooler sensor in the end so VIDA was right.
