Default 2.0d judder/stutter/misfire

Hi all,

I have a V50 2.0D non DPF 2008. It has a very annoying misfire/judder when on the lightest possible accelerator pressure when trying to maintain a stead speed. It's most noticeable in 4th gear. As soon as more pressure is applied to the gas pedal to increase speed, the misfire stops. So far either I or the two garages it's been to have tried:

Egr delete
Disconnecting MAF
Fuel filter change
Replace all four injectors with brand new ones at a Volvo dealership due to mis classed ones being installed by previous owner.

All of which have had no effect. I've seen quite a few threads on either this or other forums stating the same issue however people either don't reply to PMs or they just sold the car on without solving the issues. Can anyone help please, I'm fast approaching the end of my patience. Others have tried new altinators, new clutches and DMF both of which had no resolve.

Cheers

Mike.

I had a similar fault when I changed the TCV it stopped I put it down to the valve was allowing vacuum back to the turbo opening it up and kind of starving the engine of fuel could give this a try as the valve is like £45 on ebay

Thanks for that, it's booked into to Volvo dealers on Friday, I'll ask the to check the vacume system. I take it the throttle works on vacume? Since there's no cables going to the 'flap' itself, only a vacume pipe.

After a week at the Volvo main dealership they've rang back saying they don't know what the problem is, they can replicate it but after consultation with Volvo themselves they've asked me to come and collect the car as they don't know what else to check.

Looks like it's going to have to be traded in as I'm now out of options.

My wifes 2010 2.0D DPF equipped C70 has had this symptom for a several weeks. The only fault code was the throttle switch. A replacement, £140!, cured it for about 2 days. It also started running intermittently in "safe mode" (1800rpm max etc), but with no warning lights or fault codes. It doesn't do it anymore though as it came to a halt due to the horrendous noise of a crankshaft failure 3 days ago. Looks like it's been dropping diesel into the engine oil for ages. The oil level hasn't risen perceptibly except in the last few weeks (and that was 1l) but it's been enough to junk the motor. Now in search of a replacement.

When you say throttle switch, do you mean the gas pedal throttle position sensor or do you mean the throttle body side of things.

Sorry to hear her engine has gone, how many miles had it done?

gas pedal

118k, so nothing compared to the Euro 3 s60 D5 it replaced which had 201,000, but wifey endlessly used Tesco diesel and did loads of short distance slow trips.
