Electrics: Accessing rear cargo fuse panel

Hi

This is the fuse panel in question as seen when the back trim is removed

I need to get to the 5A fuse in position 26. This is the small orange fuse beneath that big rectangular thing (I don't what that is).

That area of the fuse panel is beneath the big trim underneath the 3rd row side windows. I can't fit my hand to pull that fuse let alone use a tool to pull that fuse. The fuse panel appears as if it can be removed as it has a catch on the top which released lets the fuse panel tilt forward. But tilting forward is not going to help. I can't see how to pull or slide the fuse panel out.

There must surely be a simple way to get to that fuse instead of removing the 3rd row side trim?

Tilt the fuse board out and lift it up/towards the inside of the car. It lifts out but has to be at an angle. You may need to remove the trim any way as the wire bundles don't have much slack in them.

Hi, is there a how to for the rear trim panels to access the dreaded rear fuse board? I too need to access the 26 slot in order to check rear parking sensor fault!

Oh and over head trim beyond rear obvious panel to check AM radio fault 😡

Any help gratefully appreciated

That reversing sensor fuse is a bu&&er to get out as i found out when i purchased my car back in 2014 and got it home and found the reversing tone
and switch illumination not there!

The easiest way i found to remove the fuse was to pull it towards the 3rd row side trim (the pc board being in the 12 0'clock-6 0'clock position (vertical)...you must pull it off the board at the 3 0'clock angle (90 degrees)) with a pair of long bent nose pliers and gripping the fuse end to end ......careful!!! it is slippery make sure you get a good grip before pulling it!!!...it is tight but the interior trim will give just enough to allow you to wiggle the fuse and release it.....

Take your time and dont rush it... The fitting of the new fuse is the same in reverse maybe with the help of a bendy neck led torch just to make sure you have aligned it correctly and wiggle it back into place.

To make it worse someone had tried to remove it before me but had given up.
They just rounded off the fuse sides and left it.

You will have to grip it really tight to remove it but it will come out ....just be careful when removing the old and fitting the new.

You start at the roof panel next to the tailgate hinges, which is handy as you need to get in there anyway! Then you work down the D pillar to the side panel. It is a simple job although some bolts are hidden behind pullout panels where the cargo tie-down points are.

Yup tried the fuse tested it once it was out all good. SO one sensor or another or even a couple must be out as they throw the code if ones out I don't have VIDA so will have to trial and error.

Sorry can't help you further but as a start to trouble shooting I would throw the fuse away and fit new as a matter of course anyway.!

Having once spent hours on a similar fault with an S60 with reversing sensors which did prove to be the fuse after all (it had a hair line crack, in the bend which made when you took fuse out and tested it but failed when you plugged it back in again).

Is cheapest fix and if doesn't work then work on from there.
