Default Boot Locked by my 9 year old son (again)

My son has managed to lock the boot for the fourth timeon my V reg S40. Just as I pressed the key operated central locking to unlock the car he pressed the boot lock to open the boot. This means the boot will not open with central locking or manually. This has happened three times previously and I have paid my Volvo dealer £50 to open it each time but it seems to only take five minutes to do.
Can anyone tell me how open it myself please.

Its an easy one to sort.

Put the key in the lock and turn, You will feel a lot of resistance and think the key may break but it will be ok and hey presto the boot will unlock.

It solved the same problem on the family V40 and my S40.

Thanks.
Have tried your suggestion but no luck.
When the Volvo dealer unlocks it they drop the back seat and do something in the boot to release it. I have looked but there is nothing obvious.

to release it from inside then you would have to drop the seats and pull the internal trim off the inside of the tailgate, you can get at the lock and release it n/p

Hey i was thinking, perhaps in the future it may be best to stand where you can see the back end of the car,or stand with your foot on the buggers neck before locking it.
