C30 audio system - I need your help!
Hello All,
my son has a C30 2008 R-Design with the Dynaudio premium sound system. The problem is that there is no sound whatsoever from the large door speakers on both sides. Not even a crackle or a hiss at any volume. The little tweeters in the front corner by the windows work fine. I think this is most likely to be a wiring issue, hopefully just a loose connection block or a blown fuse. Perhaps one amp serves both door speakers and that amp is faulty. I'd like to check the wiring starting at the amps, but I have no idea as to where they are! I've looked in the boot, under the seats front and back and there's just no sign of the sound system anywhere. Can anybody tell me how to get to the amps on this system? In fact I cannot find any details regarding the location of the various components in the sound system, and I've searched long and hard - on the net and in this forum. I tried to buy a service manual for the car on DVD, but they won't work on my 64bit Windows 7 Home Premium edition, only on the Pro version. I don't want to just start removing the interior panels willy nilly... Can anybody please help me? Last edited by Steveasub; Jun 10th, 2014 at 18:50. |

The amp unit is usually located in the boot on either the left or the right behind the carpet side panel, and can be found if you strip them back. I'd start by removing the radio screen and looking at the wires and optic leads going into the back of the head unit first.
This should help to get to the back of the screen http://accessories.volvocars.com/Acc...781-1/C30_2008 Last edited by mattievrs; Jun 10th, 2014 at 21:56. |

The amplifier is normaly behind the left side panel in the boot on the S40/V50 , the c30 is a bit shorter at the rear so may be different ( never had to look at an amplifier on a C30 !

Thanks Mattievrs.
I suspected they were in the boot area and was trying to find them yesterday, but I just couldn't see how to remove the side panels without damaging anything. Anyone out there have experience of this? |

Thanks Clan.
Just the large speakers in the door not working. All the others seem to be fine - including the dash speaker. |

Yes, I've checked all the settings, they're fine.
Even reset to factory settings a few times, with no luck. |

Cheers SonyVaio. Now I've just got to pluck up the courage to try and remove the panels and trim to get at it!
If anyone has any pointers as to how to go about removing the panels around the boot area, please let me know. |

No worries, just note though it is not the boot area it is to the side of the rear seat. You can see the front seat belt dangling down towards the top left of the picture.
