Question Power gains to expect from Do88 intercooler

I've been looking at the Do88 intercoolers and they look decent and are also quite pricey, but i was curious as to what powers gains could be achieved by one of these and are they really worth it.

Look at the KL Racing one, probably the same intercooler or near enough but half the price.

I'm not sure what the power gains would be but I know you are going for a 10.5psi limit, on drifts and lifts he fitted an eBay aluminium one and found that due to it being more efficient than the standard intercooler it raised the boost pressure at the manifold by 2psi. So if you do fit one be aware that you might be at your boost limit just from that so you won't need to fit a manual boost controller.

You won't get any power gains from any intercooler directly. However, by more efficient cooling of the incoming air, it increases the density of the intake air by making it colder. More air in the same space in other words which means more oxygen. More oxygen plus more fuel = more power.

You can also raise the boost slightly by having more efficient cooling of the incoming air as with cooler air, there is less chance of pre-ignition/pinking/detonation.

Pretty much what Dave said.....
It's not really worth putting an intercooler on a stock car to gain power, the standard intercooler is plenty big enough...
Fitting a bigger one is only really viable as a supporting mod for a bigger turbo and injectors etc etc which will allow more boost/ power etc
If you do buy one the KL racing item is half the price of the D088 item and just as good....The D088 comes in silver powdercoat whereas the KL is raw ally but everyone knows intercoolers work best when painted matt black.........
