VOLVO S60 R 2020 Petrol/ Hybrid Front driver side noise - Page 2

Yes , the Volvo dealer charged me twice for the 2 visits; First diagnosis visit was £180 ( they told me, no thing found) and the second visit £86+Vat so £106. This second diagnosis was done at the same time as my Service & MOT. This time, I was told the noise ( suspected ) is coming from "shock absorber top bearing causing reported noise". They quoted £289.68 to rectify the problem!
They were not even close where the noise is coming from , so I am assuming they did not check anything, just happy to take the money !!
I already paid the total pf £286 for the 2 visits, they wanted extra £289.68 to rectify the problem but still not knowing where the noise coming from !!
The local mechanic told me that, they should have not passed the MOT with this fault as the steering could have detached during driving and causing dangerous accident.
I have complained to the dealer and awaiting for their response.

You might think about reporting them to DVSA, formerly VOSA. Missing something as fundamental and safety critical as that is totally incompetent and they should lose their testing licence. It's doubly damning that you've already told them there was something wrong. Even if you don't want to go down that route you can always use the threat of doing so to get reimbursed by the dealer.
