They are hard to get, either cray money or snapped up fast. There was one locally on Gumtree, £70.00 but it was sold within minutes. I'll keep an eye out though I'd like a 5th one ideally, just in case!
he he my SL500 two tons of 155MPH motor was running on 35 section tyres as wide as a steam roller though

I think my tyres are OVAL or have serious flat spots as the car was sitting unused for months I was thinking i might go up a wee bit on the section BUT BLACK CIRCLE are saying 225 45 17 when I have 235 40 18 on the car :-( I have Goodyear Eagle F1 with the wide rim protector and they seem to be 'quiet' tyres running at 69dB

IT IS NOT FLAWED it is just a car that you have to drive with your brain in gear, it is much more involved it reminds me of my Ducati you cant 'just ride a motorbike' for sure not on the UK's roads with the standard of driving we have now. The moment you put your leg over the saddle you need to put your brain in gear and ride the bike, and be totally involved in riding the bike.

Yes that sideways hop is like nothing I have ever experienced in any high performance car that I have ever driven, quite something and at first quite a shock, and it is always there just waiting to 'surprise you' However it is no big deal just something quite different and a V70R trait. At first you think WTF but it is just a momentary thing and does not really result in an unbalanced car, it is like a check to make sure you are awake :-) OR to waken you up :-)

My R is continuing to try to drain my wallet.
Rear end much better after changing 4C shocks, trailing arm bushes and drop-links.
Front end needs shocks and strut top swivel mounts. Maybe ARB bushes also - there is a noise from somewhere!

One of my wheels was too damaged to repair, so eventually found a single used wheel and got them refurbished. They now look like new - and i'm being very careful to keep them that way.
Sold the replica Pegasus 17's I had yesterday.

Towed with it for the first time the other day. Needs more revs to hill-start 1200kg of trailer that the previous D5, but it can accelerate it surprisingly well!

Average (as reported by trip computer) running vPower around 28mpg.

2nd picture of wheel fitted has reflection of another car parked next to it, rather than a mark on the wheel!

On which note, mine continues to switch between brilliant and utterly ****... brilliant on a nice, smooth flowing road or indeed the track but show it some rough surfaces and it's just a chore. So between that and the fact driving it is exhausting as you're forever scanning for a smooth line, means that it's going off the road and in to storage until spring. We're also moving to a rural location, see aforementioned crap and add permanently dirty surfaces so needs must.

Meanwhile my old D5 continues to be brilliant in every possible sense... 600 miles done since Thursday and has done countless tip runs loaded up with rubble, an entire kitchen, a cooker and fridge and has ploughed in to huge great craters, waded through mud and returned 50mpg in the process and gained a few more battle scars.

Don't get me wrong, I love the R but it's proving a bit too highly strung and shiny to be anything but some sort of pathetic garage queen just now and for the foreseeable future. Found myself looking at the new neighbours Ford Ranger the other day and thinking "Hmmm!"
