XC70 ... what a car
I just love my XC70. Moved out of a BMW X3 which I absolutely hated and discovered the XC70. Bought it 15 mths old with less than 2K on the clock and with so many extras fitted - ones I wouldn’t have paid for, but would now really miss if I didn’t have them.
Just had its first MOT completed and no issues at all. This is the only car I have owned that I want to keep for a long, long time. What about you? |

I love my XC70 2012. Previously I had V6 3 litre Peugeot 406 Coupes for 15 years and didn't know what I would replace them with when the time came. When grandchildren arrived I needed a car with 4 doors and a lot of load space. However the Volvo has exactly the same power output of the PSA V6 but being a diesel it also has considerably more torque, so as a street machine my Volvo furniture removal van performs easily as well as my late lamented V6 coupes and, should I need to, I can put a sideboard in the back! Because it has permanent AWD, I am confident of all the year round driving stability and it has all the toys that the Peugeots had and quite a few more. So, yes I too love my XC70!

Love mine too.... when I bought it I had also an XC60 (2016) and XC90 (2003 - still got). Very comfortable.
Not so happy though that it is the most uneconomical of the three.... by some margin. The XC90 wight 400Kg more but still does another 5mpg.

I bought mine to get a good towing car.
Powerful engine (230 hp/470 Nm), automatic gearbox with torque converter, all wheel drive, self-leveling suspension, reverse camera - it's the best car for towing I've had so far. Driven carefully, I can come down to 6 l/100 km. Not too bad for almost 2000 kg of car. |

My first Volvo was an 850, I loved it and kept it for 12 years until my mate offered me his ex duty free Merc C220 CDI estate for funny money. For the 2 years I owned the Merc I regretted ever selling my Volvo so when the XC70 I now own came up for sale - 3 years old, one previous owner and with only 32,000 miles on the clock - it was a no-brainer.
I have driven the XC70 all over Europe from southern Spain to Croatia in all weathers and it has never let me down despite driving in 30+C heat in Spain to -20C in Austria and Slovenia driving over deep snow. The car has just gone through the "new" MoT test and apart from a new yaw sensor - the "DSTC Service Required" warning came on intermittently - that was the only pick up point.

Bought mine new in 2009. Now 9 years old, 163,000 miles. Like it so much I never consider trading it in! Still drives like a new car. No notable corrosion. Seats still sooo comfy. 46mpg over it's life! What a car!

I forgot to say that I've bought one more XC70. A 2016 model. They don't make them any longer, hence as new as you can get.
The latter one is a Classic Summum D4 Automatic. No trade though, kept the first one too. Missus said she wanted a smaller car (she drove a P2 V70 2.5T before). So I bought this XC70 and said "it's as small as it gets." |

Me too - on my third now!
Actually, that could sound bad - they've all been great but the first (2011) was brand new on lease (lovely - ordered to our exact spec.) but just couldn't afford to buy it at end of contract. Second (2008) bought outright: SE Sport with practically everything, treated it to Polestar (which early autos really need IMO) but high-ish mileage, so enter No.3 - a 2012 with only 15k miles - and sunroof - and 4C - and a good trade-in on the 2008 - just couldn't resist! Suits our needs perfectly - practical, comfy, safe, great to drive - almost the perfect car...? It will be a hard act to follow for the V90CC but when the time comes, that's got to be our bet.
