Default Which fuel injection system..

Me again,

Bit of a stupid question, the Haynes manual lets me down a bit here as it seems more concerned with the American models..

My car is a 88 240 Auto with a b200e engine. There is no lambda sensor for sure.

I have mechanical fuel injection, with a fuel distributor located down behind the intake manifold near the fuel injectors.

So what exact system is it? The car idles fine when warm, but too high when cold, I am pretty sure this is because everything is gummed up and am hoping a good clean out will solve.

How about adjusting CO content? Do I need a dwell meter?

Thanks!

I expect you've got K-Jetronic- my 89 UK 240 GL with B200E (and no lambda) certainly has. There's a write up on it in the volvo site, but I found another useful article yesterday after having emissions problems at MoT time. http://www.students.tut.fi/~hezekiel/bosch.htm

CO adjustment is with a 3mm allen key down a hole in top of the fuel distributor between it and the rubber coupling to the manifold. Clockwise is richer (more CO) and about 1/4 turn is around 2% I understand.

Best regards

Chris

What is the cold and warm idle speed?? It should be around 1300 when cold.
