Default MY11 Executive Questions

I'm the happy ownere of a new MY2011 Executive and have a few of questions which I'm hoping you can help with.
1) Is there any way to get the power folding wing mirrors so that they fold / unfold when I lock/unlock the car with the key?
2) What features are included with the on-call service - is it emergency assistance and theft detection? Are there any ongoing charges for these services and what exactly is included as part of them?
3) Is there any way to make the warning message go away when I start the satnav - Ideally I'd like it jump straight into advanced mode?

I think thats all for now, but I'm sure I'll have more when Istart playing with the USB conncetivity!

Thanks for all of your help.

1) No, not as far as I know.
2) Not sure, mine is disabled due to the change of ownership and I will get it re-activated when it is next serviced.
3) Again, AFAIK not possible.

well, on my S80 Exec you can get the mirrors to fold/unfold wth locking/unlocking the car. Check the option is ticked on the software menu. Likewise on the satnav under settimgs somewhere you can choose to have the 'nag screen' go off automatically (after a few seconds).

Thanks for all of your help.

This should help with your on call :
http://www.volvocars.com/intl/campai.../Overview.aspx

The latest innovation with on call is that you can download an APP which lets you control certain functions on the car via your mobile phone .. on 2012 models

regarding the navigation , when you turn it on with the enter button , just press the button twice , it will be on the main screen beore it has risen !

I have had an XC60 out on test drive and with lots of fiddling in the set up menus you can disable and enable mirror folding, and again it is possible to set the map display so that the annoying message does not have to be manually acknowledge. It is displayed for a few seconds but then changes to the map view.

Possible in the XC60 but not in the XC90...
Sad actually because they are just software tweaks...

Just a thought - I put my XC90 in the garage overnight, and since it's quite narrow, the mirrors need to be folded in.

If they unfolded when the car is started inside the garage, one mirror would scrape the wall.

Personally, I don't find it too difficult to press the button twice a day.

Have to switch off the front parking sensors also, so 2 buttons twice a day, but I manage :-)

How do you get out of the car, through the sunroof?

Thanks - shame they have deactivated the feature - I'm sure I saw this in a brochure at some point
