Regardless of the age of you XC90, I'm pretty sure the size of the pipe used for the standard exhaust is the same, 60mm OD, so these tips will just push on.

Hello chaps, just ordered a similar pair from Fleabay for £19.95. Followed Shadeyman's original link to this:

http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item...d=321594230228

It's for a Golf and its supposed to be Stainless...

I'll report how (and if!) they fit once they arrive.

Stu.

What year is your XC90? Does it have the two exhaust pipes that curve downwards?

I was looking for something similar but nothing seemed to be suitable for the downward curving pipes. Also it looks like the pipes are sticking out further than the rear bumper. Isn't that illegal in the UK?

That would be great Stu. If you could also advise what year and model you have. If they work then I may take a couple of these myself.

This is what I am struggling to understand. How can straight covers fit over outlets that curve downwards, without modification? Shadey showed pics that confirm his vehicle did not have straight pipes.

Because the ID of those is 68mm, therefore they will accommodate the curve of the original pipes.

Just checked my 57 plate D5 and my exhausts are 60mm across but 90mm top to bottom
Worth checking before buying, but thanks for the link - I'm slightly disappointed they won't fit, but thats £20 saved before Christmas which is a nice bottle of port instead!

And stick out further than the bumper, which is illegal in the UK no?

Evening chaps, sorry for the late reply, just home..
Hi Acer, my car is a 2007 SE Lux, so the exhaust has the straight, but slashed ends.
Paulodipoggio, don't buy the Port yet!! I believe the exhaust ends are circular, at 60mm, but because the end is slashed, it gives the 90mm measurement.
It's the same as slicing a cucumber straight, which gives you circles, or on an angle, which gives you lovely ovals of cucumberyness!
I may need diagrams...
Think Ducklakeview is correct, this may be how the tips fit the downward curved exhaust, but I not totally sure how the curve looks. Perhaps Shadey can help us all understand!!
Don't think the protruding end (oo-err!) will fall foul of the law, I'm thinking of some Mini exhausts and the hot Renault hatch where they poke out like wheelbarrow handles.
Had the email, mine have been dispatched..

I checked and it's illegal for exhausts to protrude beyond the bumper, so not sure how Mini and Renault cars are getting around that? Also perhaps more chance of damaging the exhaust if someone hits you from behind. Could just be the pics, maybe they don't project much at all.

I want this to work as they look class . Would be great if shady can confirm re the curve.
