Yes I deffo have facelift. It is a black surround but I'd wondered if it was a very dark grey. Also thought the typical surrounds wouldn't match?

As far as I know they are not security codes but you can't straight swap an hu-850 (Pro logic) as it must run from an amplifier

Finally getting back around to this. My HU-850 is showing the dreaded CD ERROR fault and I've just been quoted £289+vat to get it fixed!

I think this is therefore a good time to replace!

I would prefer to keep the cup holder but all of the double din surrounds I've found seem to blank them off, is this usual?

Can I just install a double din stereo easily, I assume I lose the centre speaker but the amp should still work? I's also like to keep steering wheel controls.

Appreciate anyone sharing pics of their replacement stereos.

Smile Another idea

Why not simply plug in a £40 ish yatour player into the unused ext cd changer on the back of your HU850, the amp and audio on the 850 is pretty good, i havent used the internal 6cd changer on mine for years, and you avoid any hassles with things like steering wheel controls not working and security coding issues with the head unit. PS you can even keep the cup holder 😊 i guess this might not be an option if you really only can use cd's but ripping them to mp3 s is worth the time invested.

Not heard of those, thanks for the info.

Sound quality is fine and I'm happy to keep the stock stereo so this looks like a good option.

All I need is Bluetooth connection to play music from phone and I see they do a unit with this so I'll research further :-)
