Default Yet another stupid question...

I had a D5 S80 (03) 60k miles. Ran it up to 150k when it became too expensive to sensibly repair. It was reasonably frugal on fuel. My S60 also a D5 is somewhat less economical. The first was 163bhp and the newest is 202(?)bhp. Should there be much difference between the two, consumption wise, given that I'm no speed freak?

DPF on the new one.

The 163 engine was a lot more frugal without the DPF in the mix.

There's probably loads of other reasons but my 163bhp S60 would do an easy 50mpg on a run my mate had a newer 185bhp version with DPF & couldn't get anything like the same.
