Default More electronic wobblies.....

Just back from a trip to the Llyn peninsula.

On the trip across the car temp gauge went all the way down to 2c and the ice light came on then went back to 15c in the space of about 5 mins. Kind of ignored that and assumed a one off.

Then the drivers mirror randomly set itself to the kerb reversing position - twice....

Then the head up display did its usual "peekabo, where am I?" trick.

Then leaving this morning the camera, blis and cross traffic alert went offline. I cleaned the sensors and restarted and they came back to life.

But, the most serious is that the satnav has gone completely haywire. When we left it was maybe 20 miles out. We were in Caernarfon and it was back up the road. Then as we headed across the a55 the satnav was driving off through snowdonia and just kept heading south. The car is now on the drive at Home in North Derbyshire and the satnav thinks we are in a field somewhere to the West of Hereford.

It has also corrupted the speed sign assist database so i get lots of random limits displayed.

I am starting to think that Volvo is now like Alfa in the 80s. Wonderful cars you just want to love but they just disappoint on the basics (like functioning electonics).

Oh and a depressing thought for any new buyers waiting for their car. These all seem like software issues. My car has the latest software. I guess these bugs will be in all the new cars too just waiting for the right time to come out......

My 10-day old car has the latest software and the bugs are already starting to appear. Sensus screen went blank this afternoon. It's fundamental to the operation of the car. Shouldn't this system have been exhaustively tested before release? It would seem not.

Reminds me of Windows 95 or Vista. It should be like Windows 7.

There's a rumour over on Swedespeed of a major software release this autumn. Perhaps they'll test this one before releasing it.

Me thinks, it will be us that test it and find out if it is any good.

There have been big problems with VoC and apps for the last 3 days. The issue is probably not at your end.

I think there is an issue with the apps,

I did the latest big update on a customers car on thursday then it refused to download the apps either by the buildings xc90 wifi or teathered through my phone,

Also PDi'd a new one on friday and had same issue,

Gave them both up as a bad job in end and customer was quiet understanding and said he would do it himself when it comes back online
