Excess speed and without due care and attention is no doubt what the Police found worthy

Phew! Thought I was going to see me with that title!

Yeah, that is not bad driving by the 940. Or the BMW.

The Stasi would have loved dash cams.

Are you kidding? :-) Volvo was supposed to go around the broken down car on the RIGHT, on the road, should have indicated right and waited till he could go around on the road

Its illegal to drive on the pavement unless you're turning into a driveway (or in an emergency). Highway Code 145

It was not broken down but waiting to turn right hence the right indicator. If that car was broken down they stopped in totally the wrong place!

Perhaps the car had been there a silly long amount of time? Not ideal driving

I keep meaning to sort myself out a dash cam. I see horrific driving which I would have no qualms about dobbing people in for. Guy in the car in front of me recently doing his hair and stuff whilst driving and then going on to do a very dangerous overtake through a tiny village built around a busy junction followed by another reckless overtake actually on the bend after the village

I look forward to dobbing these people in

I have mixed feelings regarding dash cams. Most of us make a genuine mistake from time to time and it would be unfortunate if one was to be pilloried for such a slip.

I try not to become involved in such incidents, and have no desire to play 'Policeman'; if only because I do not have the training.

Having said that, the one time that I regret not having one, which I would have happily handed over to the Police, was when we were following a tractor that came into collision with a cyclist who subsequently died.

Regards. John.

True, I did direct that at male drivers. But the message is pan-genderal.

I run dash cams in all my vehicles, even the works van, 2 in the volvo.
I run them for my protection and to supply evidence to MY insurance company if the need arises. I cannot envisage a time when I would voluntarily hand footage over to the police.

It is precisely because of the lack of patrols that folk think they can get away with it. Ever notice how suddenly every one obeys the rules when a marked patrol car is spotted up ahead? The laws have not changed they are always there, it's observance of the law that kicks in when the threat of policing and sanction by those charged with so doing becomes a reality.

Those vigilantes whom are out there to begger their neighbour need to be careful of karma, that which goes around comes around.

A friend had a phone call that his dad had been rushed to hospital 80 miles away, once he hit the M4 he admits to as fast as the car would go which was over 100 mph. He got to the hospital in time to say goodbye to his dad, fully accepts his actions were illegal and if caught would of accepted any and all penalties. All I say to those whom would judge, what would you do in similar circumstance?

Paul.
