Default Boost pressure solenoid valve

Some while ago my EML came on and I took the car to my local garage for diagnosis. They said boost pressure solenoid valve. Being an easy replacement I did it myself and took the car back to have the light put out. It stayed out for two days then came back on again. Same diagnosis, so I replaced it again, sending the one I had bought back as faulty. This time the light stayed out for half a mile! As the performance had not changed one bit from before the light first came on, I decided to ignore the light and carry on. The car drives fine and even pulls a caravan, but it has done a considerable mileage with the light on, and it is starting to annoy me. Any ideas?

Peeps would probably need a little more info on your car, like......
model, year and engine.......
Local garage diagnostics...hummmm, depends on what they used to read the codes with, do you know the code they found ? Depending on year you might need Vol-Fcr or Vida Dice to read it for a Volvo specific code. This will help a lot.
