Default Dpf issue again

Had issue again with this flaming car. The car is a 2lt diesel with the d4204t engine in, I’ve done a regen through Vida and it seemed to have sorted the issues ( hesitation and limp mode). Now after roughly 200 miles it’s playing up again. I’ve regenned the dpf again with Vida and it’s giving a reading of 55 pascals or whatever the units are of pressure. The cars running fine again but is throwing a fault that the trap is blocked and there is a faulty pressure signal on the sensor. What’s my options here?
I’m thinking check the sensors next but where are they on this engine in an s40 on 56 plate?

Thanks in advance.

Is it the original dpf or have you had it replaced?
They can clog with ash over time that a regen cannot burn off, it might be that its had it day...

could be that a diesel isnt suited to your driving
99% of the "omg the dpf is naff/wrong/broken" are down to being driven in a manner that is Not suitable for the diesel with dpf. Town traffic and slow speeds / short runs - no good
long runs up to temp above the rpm needed to regen for the Time needed to regen = good

How old is the dpf? Is it original? It could just be beyond usable life. If it's not that then check sensors either side, notoriously fragile wee beasties that that are.

It’s the original dpf on 104000 miles. It went to a specialist at 95000 who cleaned it out and removed all the ash. (not sure how). It’s been fine for the last 19500 miles then started being a ball ache.
I’m assuming it has just one sensor on the battery box side? I’m tempted to replace the piping and the sensor and give it another regen?
Mileage daily wise it probably does 15 miles in one go then the return 15 later on at between 50-65 but gets ragged a fair bit too regularly.;...

At 104k its probably reached its best before date to be honest. Should be two sensors, one each side of the dpf to measure pressure differential.

Are you sure it’s got 2 sensors? It has this sensor on the battery box which seems to have 2 pipes in it, both going to the dpf as a before and after pressure pipe

From what I can see it has a pipe that comes from the rear and one from the front that are solid, they have 2 rubber pipes that fit into the sensor by the battery. The oonly other sensor I can see is the temp sensor that doesn’t seem to be mentioned in the fault codes on Vida, just the pressure fault.

And they both go to the same sensor? Ok. Well in that case it's either that, or as I said the dpf is borked. Shame no-one else has any better ideas. My best advice is to try a different garage first, other than that its wallet time.

Yeah, the 2 pipes that come from the dpf at the front and back are going to the same sensor. I’ve read on here that someone had similar issues and swapped out the sensor and made sure the pipes were clear using a guitar string! The other sensor is plugged into a connector for temp readings and isn’t throwing a code. I think I’ll get a sensor and see what happens.

Thanks for the help
