Well, I've taken the plunge and bought one of the Autel Est201 tools off fleabay as there is a guy selling them for under £45 delivered. It has come preloaded with the latest V1.08 software and has a menu item for Volvo (and Ford) as well as the original Merc and VAG settings so I have high hopes. I'm planning to do the job next week so I'll take some pix and write up how I get on.
I'm starting a new job soon so I'll be back in a company car soon (new job favours car over allowance) so I won't be needing to do any DIY work on cars with an EPB for a while so will try to sell the Autel unit on again... |

I would be happy with £35 including postage (which would mean that I have effectively paid about £13 for the "hire" of the tool to do the job.) Mine was only bought last week and has just been used the once with clean hands (used gloves at the dirty end) and the screen protection is still in place as you can see from the pix.
Or you can get one for £45 delivered from this ebay seller like I did: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...ht_1155wt_1270 I tried £40 in the best offer box and was accepted instantly. Last edited by Sanzomat; Feb 21st, 2012 at 09:01. |

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Autel-Maxi...ht_3949wt_1037 I'd be interested to know if it comes with the V1.08 software and if it doesn't, how you get on with updating it. Good luck! |

That's the very one. After a conversation with a seller he stated tha it will work with Volvo's EPB so decided to bid on it and won. I will post any updates on that one. If no I will just download software from one of a torrents or contact autel and ask them for software. They will be helpful I hope.

Hello sanzomat
Got my maxiest201. At first it really dosn't list volvo. After googling some different thing found this web page: http://www.autel.us/downloads.php only update i found is ebd v1.09 so downloaded it to my pc( i know that may be a problem cos I have a maxiEST201 - no ebd210) It loads on a device and works. After alteration of the software it have volvo update. And after first try outs working with my s80. It reads codes and allows to erase them. It goes on screens as in your thread. Shows all the options but it doesn't seem to open the brake. When pressed the "activate service" it shows comm error. Hmmm.....what You think? I will try again tomorrow in light. Maybe me doing something wrong. |
