Default D4 2.0d 2013 v70 Euro 5 or Euro 6 ULEZ or not?

I have a 2013 V70 D4 with five cylinder 2.0d Volvo engine.

When I log into the London tfl website it comes up as non-compliant.

However I have read elsewhere in Volvo owners comments that they have Euro 6 with the same engine on a 2014 plate.

I believe that mine is the 163hp version D4.

I did try the Volvo UK website chatbot today and a chap called Reece who texted back that mine shows as Euro 5.

I wonder if anyone has ideas on whether I should take this any further as it would be helpful to drive within the M25 after the end of August.

Euro 6 I think for most models came in for 2015MY, which would be cars manufactured after around June 2014. But old stock would still likely be sold upto late Autumn in 2014 so you could have old models on a 64 plate for example whilst newer Euro 6 models are on 14 plates.

It's really simple - if you go to www.totalcarcheck.co.uk and pop your registration number in - it will give you the euro status without having to pay for a check. And that is what it is, it's not practical to have it changed.

I think I am right in saying that euro6 was only on the 4 cylinder 'VEA' engines that replaced the older 5 pots. My 2013 D3 5 pot is euro5 - unfortunately. A detail that escaped me prior to purchase.

Thankfully, we rarely drive inner-city, but if they start rolling it out in the towns we will be scuppered. The environmental impact of scrapping these vehicles must outweigh the emissions they could emit until their end-of-life. I guess it's more about air-quality than carbon footprint.

Some 2015MY, 2016MY & 2017MY 5 bangers were Euro 6, for example the D4 and D5 2.4 AWD XC60 & XC70 & V60CC.

Have you tried putting you registration number in here? https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/check-your-vehicle/

Just ran my V70 D5 2015MY through the suggested web sites.
Comes back as EURO5B
Have to to ULEZ charge cos its not EURO 6

This was as I expected as I seem to recall the later 5 pots were EURO5+ and it was not until the 4pots came in that the Diesels became EURO 6.

Cheers
Bob
