Some issues after battery replacement
Hi - 2013 V60 D3/4G RDesign - I replaced both batteries and everything went back together fine and car started/drives ok.
However, I now have a couple of glitches... 1 Bonnet open message when closed - I realise this could be a coincidence and I've seen the other threads on this subject 2 The RHS dash display has changed - see photo 3 The indicators don't flash when I lock the car - but the LED on the dash top flashes red as per normal and the indicators DO flash when you unlock Are these issues related to each other? Or is there a common module or fuse that I should be looking for? Car drives fine apart from these. Any thoughts gratefully received! Thanks Rob |

the missing dash message is the clock just re set it did you re set the battery monitoring system after replacing them? it sounds like the micro switch on the bonnet catch is stuck try spraying with wd 40 or similar this should fix your problems.

The indicators not flashing on locking is down to the bonnet switch, the car still thinks the bonnet is open. If the WD40 trick doesn't work, new switch or you can use a paperclip across the switch connectors to make it think the bonnet is closed.
Edit: when the bonnet switch is on the way out you can sometimes get random alarm triggering. Mine did that, usually in the middle of the night or on a quiet Sunday afternoon. Edit2: with the ignition full on/engine running do you get the Bonnet Open message when you cycle through the messages ?

Thanks guys - very helpful. Clock is reset now.
GMcL - yes the message is there when I'm driving and when I cycle through messages. I tried the WD40 fix, but no joy. New bonnet latch ordered, so hopefully get it sorted properly soon! |

make sure to lube the new one or it will eventually fail like the old one it quite a common fault on various models where it never been maintained.

I've done the workaround while I wait for the new part to be delivered.
Having had a look at the latch position, it looks like it'll help if I remove the headlight and bumper cover. Can anyone confirm this or offer any other advice? |
