I'll keep that in mind Dan. Many thanks.

For context I have never had to change a clutch in a car, and have taken some up to 200k.

Tuner figures are also not comparable to OEM power figures. On a good day, with low temps, and the car not heatsoaked you may briefly make 250bhp. On a hot day, with a hot engine and heat soaked intercooler you won't. Remember that Volvo detuned the D5 from 185bhp to 180bhp in these C1 platform cars due to thermal management issues.

The car is too damned slow with 180bhp IMHO, but don't expect a remapped car to have the durability of a standard one. Most tuners "it'll do 250bhp" claims mean that it did a few hundred miles in that state of tune without going bang, and made those figures on a rolling road dyno. It is an absolute universe away from the standards of durability and consistent power output that a manufacturers engine calibration must meet.

Volvo used a second turbo and extensively re-engineered the D5 to make 220bhp in it's very last iteration in cars with much bigger radiators and intercoolers than the C70. Make of that what you will.
You REALLY needed a new gearbox? Unless it ran dry I genuinely cannot fathom how you broke an M66 with 225bhp/480nm!?

Whatever the case to the OP - it's peak torque and how and where in the rev range it is delivered, a map with an aggressive ramp below 2k RPM is going to glaze your clutch friction disc and wobble the nips off of the DMF as well as stress the rest of the drivetrain. Avoid burying the throttle in high gear at low revs i.e. 6th gear @ 60mph/2k rpm

Don't be too concerned about peak figures, as long as these car don't have boost leaks they can make repeatable pulls on the stock intercooler.
Upgrading it to a bigger one won't do any harm and approaching 240bhp+ you'd best be installing one.

I have been driving with 530nm of torque for over 24,000 miles and I have the tiniest dip of clutch slip if I try and floor it in 6th at 60mph - I generally avoid this anyway and use 5th gear to take it beyond there.

Just worth pointing out that the power limits of the stock 2056VLK turbo is 260bhp, but nevertheless on the stock clutch 500-520nm should be safe if its not already slipping.

What baout geartronic version which is 180 hp 350 nm? (Manual is 400nM). I know these boxes arent that reliable. I thought so about not a huge improvement like 20-25% but have no clue how this box will handle it as already from factory it was decreased to 350nM is it a limit to aisin box?
