Cam type
Hi All,
I've just acquired a b18 d donor engine for some work over the winter leading to a transplant operation. The cam has got s772 and what looks like an x and o etched on beside it. Could anyone tell me please what type of cam this is? Thanks |

Can't tell from those numbers. They usually have the letter stamped on the back end. Probably a C in your case.

Right about those numbers probably being useless, however
"D" engines, with CR equal to "A" engines but with 2 carbs, had A cams, never originally C...

True. I misread that as a B18b. Early d engines unusual here now in the UK just due to them being fitted in cars up to about '63-'64.
