1996 850 ECC light bulbs
Hello All
I have a 1996 850 and a bag of light bulbs for the electronic climate control module in the dashboard above the radio. My Haynes manual says remove the radio and depress the locking button on the underside of the control module. I can find no such button or any release mechanism after an hour of fishing around with my fingers. How do I remove this bugger? Thanks in advance. Danny |

instructions only valid for real volvo radios.
left and right on front of radio you do see vertical stripes. with a coin press, and a handle flips out: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/im...placement3.jpg |

My 850 doesn't have ECC but to get into the heater panel you have to pull the control knobs off to reveal screws. Sometimes the little clip that grips the spindle falls out, so be ready to catch that. I don't think the radio needs to come out at all.

Some ECC Units (old ones) had a button on the underside.
The other ones do not have any, you simply press the unit out from behind after you removed the radio. After that it ist only a matter of removing the 3 connectors on the back. To replace the bulbs you need to unscrew the metal housing which is pretty straight forward. Cheers Cristian |
