Default Deeside Volvo Centre

Hi All
Has anyone here had any dealings with a Volo independant in Connahs Quay called Deeside motor centre?

I have recently purchased a car from there and I am having serious doubts about the service/warranty quality recieved.

Isn't that the place that also does LPG conversions?

Yes i have issues with the car at the moment. i had a broken top mount at delivery and was told this was not warranty and I had to replace it myself. they have replaced it now but only as a goodwill gesture due to me purchasing the car.

I bought a volvo from deeside volvo in January 2011. To be honest i'm not happy with the service i received. I had a very bad vibration between 45-65mph and also the car would not start first go. Took it back and was told that it needed a new tyre and this would solve the vibration problem, they refused to give me a new tyre even though i'd only had the car a week so had to pay £80 for a budget tyre (cost price apparently). On the way home the vibration was still bad and took it back again, they kept it in and could not find any reason for the vibration. They said as the starting problem was not bringing up an error code they could'nt do a thing to solve it and they had not experienced this problem whilst it was in. Thankfully it did'nt start whilst the mechanic was bringing it round for me to pick up so again kept it in, apparently it was the throttle housing that was faulty. Starting problem fixed however the vibration was still bad. I then took it to my usual garage and within an hour they had found the problem to be the anti roll bar link arms and gave the great news that i needed 3 new tyres. This on top of the annual service came to £900, not very happy with that however the car has no vibration.
To think they are a Volvo specialist i was not impressed to find they could not find a fault with mine even though my usual mechaninc found the problem immediately. Also when purchasing the car it was due for a service in 4000 miles but they wold not pay for this only give me a 15% discount to use when it was due, obviously i did'nt take it to them for a service after the previous issues!
Doubt very much i will buy a car from them again!!

Sounds terrible, perhaps you could try Drayton Volvo, Wirral, next time?

Drayton used to be known for high workshop charges, although things might have changed since they went independent.
I can recommend their parts department though.

For servicing on the Wirral I would recommend Graham Wrightson in Birkenhead, a small independent Volvo specialist that I have always used for the jobs I couldn't tackle myself. Once again their parts are very reasonably priced (order only).

The only good thing about them was they did transfer my private plate for me, saved me the hassle of going to DVLA even though they did charge me for going on top of the usual cost.
Personally i would avoid this garage.
